My name is Chuck Underhill. My family and I host a Bible study for young adults. I also work with House of Raeford in West Columbia, SC. We love the opportunity that God gives us to invest in 18+ year olds through relationships and encouragement in their faith. The main focuse of my job is sales as well as managing our non-profit, FLOCK, within the midlands of South Carolina. FLOCK desires to partner with other non-profits, churches, schols, food banks and ministries to better our community.
My family and I became aware of L4L through our Bible study, and the desire to serve. We had a mutual relationship with Jen Thompson, L4L’s Executive Director, and we invited her to come nad share about the ministry. It was life changing! Since then we have helped by passing out info at sporting events, filing bags with ministry info, written ‘thank you notes’, and invested financially in this great work. This has led to a partnership between House of Raeford, FLOCK and Lighthouse for Life, that allowed for much more investment directly impacting the opening of Karis Home.
We feel called to this ministry, and what they do is incredible. My family and friens only desire to see those in bondage, slavery, or abuse free in every way possible! We KNOW that Lighthouse for Life is making eternal differences for people already and we are honored to stand along with them.
Chuck

Bringing awareness to the people of SC is central to the mission of Lighthouse for Life. The following numbers represent our activity towards fulfilling
this misison in the first quarter of 2018. (January – March)
We’ve connected with 4,953 people through community presentations, 190 through information booths
and 187 advocates through job specific trainings. There were over 793 people involved in our fundraising events.
We’ve had individual sessions with least 14 individuals and were privileged to share with 617 students/youth.
This means we’ve been able to bring awareness to over 6,761 people so far in 2018!
We’ve also partnered directly with 7 various state or community agencies and served directly in 11 different counties.
Thanks to each of you and your incredible support of us during our Midlands Gives campaign, we were able to bring in over $10,000!! This money will be
directly used for our first girl’s individual needs at Karis Home.
We are thrilled that 120 individual gifts were given to Lighthouse for Life this year! Thats our highest individual gift total in all our years participating
in Midlands Gives.
* We were awarded a bonus $1,000 for being the first “small” non-profit to have 50 different gifts given that day.
* We also met our POWER HOUR goal by having the most individual gifts given between 10 and 11 am!
* Over 25 people reached out to Judi Gatson on our behalf through the day and she chose Lighthouse for Life as an agency to give a personal donation!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!
On May 1st Lighthouse for Life lead a consortium of angecies from all across South Carolina (and 1 from N.C.) in paying special honor to four public servants. We presented the South Carolina Survivor’s Inspiration and Hope Award to these special heros for their tireless work within the SC House and Senate to reduce demand for commercial sex, thereby diminishing the population of souls in its bondage. The award was given to Representative Mandy Powers Norrell (Lancaster, District 44), Representative Laurie Funderburk (Kershaw, District 52), Senator Katrina Frye Shealy (Lexington, District 23) and Senator Brad Hutto (Orangeburg, District 40).
