Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church has been a partner with us from close to the beginning of our operations. They have invited us to come share with their congregation, allowed us to have an information table at their Unspoken concert, hosted a 3 day training for statewide law-enforcement/first responders, partner with us financially on a regular basis and so much more. We have been very blessed by their partnership!
“Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church has been partnering
with Lighthouse for Life for several years now. We began our partnership with
Lighthouse for Life when a member of our congregation brought the ministry to
our attention after he had spent some time with them and realized that it was
something we need to be invested in as a church. We decided to support
Lighthouse for Life because of their mission, to fight sex trafficking, which
is different from other partners that we are supporting and we knew there was a
great need for this type of ministry. We have continued to support Lighthouse
for Life because we see the life change they are making in the awareness of sex
trafficking and in the life of the victims. We look forward to seeing what God
does through Lighthouse for Life as they continue to be on the frontlines in
the fight against sex trafficking. “

Drywall is up, trim is being done around doors and windows, and paint colors are being picked out for Karis Home as it takes shape.
But before we bring in a paint crew, we have taken time to pray over each room of Karis Home and cover it’s walls with the truth of God’s Word.

Midlands Gives, Tuesday, May 2, is a 24-hour online giving challenge that brings the region together to raise awareness for Midlands non-profits. Lighthouse for Life joined for the first time last year and raised $8,000! As the time approaches, we’ll post on our website and social media our goal for 2017 as well as how to participate.
One of our greatest joys is watching our communities join together in the fight against local human trafficking! Watch how the youth at Spring Hill High School did just that!
According to the S.C. Human Trafficking Task Force 2016 report, ‘more than half of the 50 pending state-level charges of human trafficking from 2016 were from Richland County,’ and ‘of those 50 statewide cases, 36 involved victims under 18.’
