"My name is Jenn Alderman. My husband, Jason, and I are the owners of Fortress Martial Arts and Fitness. We first heard about Lighthouse for Life a little over two years through our church, Radius. At the start of one of the Sunday morning services, there was a video that explained the mission of Lighthouse for Life. Instantly, we knew that we wanted to be a part of helping this incredible ministry in any way that we could!
We became matching donors in the first Midlands Gives campaign, and I began volunteering at events. In 2017, I helped with the Run for Her Life 5K as well as assisted in leading the Midlands Gives campaign. In 2018, it was an honor and privilege to be the Race Coordinator for the Glow Run! I look forward to assisting in raising funds and awareness for Lighthouse for Life more in the future.
Being a small part of Lighthouse for Life has been such an incredible blessing, and I cannot thank, all involved with this ministry, enough for fighting to bring more awareness to our community and for their commitment to provide a safe environment for victims to be renewed and restored."
Karis Home Update
Thanks to so many of you, we have a full pantry, and enough soap in every format to stay clean for a long time!! What a tremendous blessing you all gave us at the 'Pouding' on February 25!
PLEASE KEEP PRAYING!
We have two inspections that we still need to pass before we can officially delcare that we are open; a state fire marshal inspection (we passed our county one, but were informed we also needed a state inspection), and our DSS inspection. We must pass our state fire marshal inspection before having DSS make their visit to our home. Please continue to pray that God will allow everything to come together and that we will glorify Him in our waiting.
Meanwhile, the caregivers are settling in and Karis Home is feeling more and more 'homey' all the time.

Our 3rd Annual, 'Run for Her Life' 5K and first glow run is in the books!
We had such a great time with all of you! Almost 500 people, lots of glow sticks, puppies, strollers, disco tents, music and so much more made it a night to remember!
A HUGE thank you goes to Jennifer Alderman for all her work in organizing this run! We'd also like to thank; Ashley and Saluda Shoals park for being a great host, and Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative for being our presenting sponsor! Many other sponsors and volunteers came together to make it a great event.
Lighthouse for Life is happy to welcome Mandy Cheatham on staff as our Event Coordinator! Mandy has been a valuable volunteer for over a year and is the brains behind our Holiday Marketplace. She will now be responsible for managing our speaking and events calendar. We are thrilled to have her join our team and thank the Lord for her excellent spirit and gifts she uses for the ministry. If you'd like to talk with her about scheduling something with Lighthouse for Life or for more information about any upcoming event, you can reach Mandy at Events@lighthouseforlife.org.

New Partner Highlight
We are so very thankful for our partners who give to keep Lighthouse for Life going. One partner, Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, did something a little different for Christmas last year that was a huge blessing to us. Read below to see what they did and join us in praising God for this huge blessing!
"This year, Mt. Horeb UMC, decided we wanted to celebrate Christmas; Jesus’ birthday, in a different way. Instead of the usual consumption mentality, we decided to do a special Advent Offering on Christmas Eve where 100% of the offering would be our gift to celebrate Jesus’ birth. Our folks were asked to celebrate Christmas more simply, so that others could live more fully. The focus, this year, was fighting sex trafficking both locally and globally. We are excited to continue our longstanding partnership with Lighthouse for Life as the organization to receive the local portion of the Advent Offering. We are humbled and honored to notify you that we will be contributing $120,000 to Lighthouse for Life in 2018, to be disbursed in equal monthly payments." - Nate Gibson, from Mt Horeb UMC
