See how members of our community are using their hands and feet to join Lighthouse for Life in standing against human trafficking in South Carolina.
"My name is Melissa Hallman and my husband, David, and I own ADM Signs in Lexington. I first heard about Lighthouse for Life through our work neighbor,
Jenn Alderman. She asked us to make some signs for 5K race that she was helping with and once she told me about the organization I knew I wanted to
help in whatever way I could.
In the past when I heard “sex trafficking” I immediately thought of foreign countries, not my own. It is sad to realize that this is going on in America
and not just in someone else’s city – in our very own! Our community is blessed to have this group of people that are educating the public on this
growing problem and providing a safe environment for the victims. We are happy to donate decals & signs to support them in their mission. I would
like to encourage anyone reading this newsletter to find a way to contribute – even if it’s something small – you will be making a difference!"
The Biggest Announcement We've Ever Made!
We have officially received our License from the South Carolina Department of Social Services for Karis Home! This license officially recognizes Karis Home as a Certified Safe Home in South Carolina for female victims of sex trafficking ages 12 - 21.
This is BY FAR the greatest miracle and accomplishment in the 4 years of our existence. Please join us in celebrating this momentous occasion by sharing
the news with others, taking a moment to tell God thanks and any other idea creative expressions you choose to show your joy and thanksgiving!
You need to know there are other state requirements we will need to meet before we can officially be occupied by clients. We are diligently pursuing
these items and you can please be in prayer for our next meeting with D.S.S. which is scheduled tentatively for either August 31 or September 10th.
We are awaiting confirmation.
But, for now, please intentionally pause and celebrate with us. And please hear us from the bottom of our hearts as we say "Thank You!" so each of you
for your support, encouragement, and prayers over the last four years as we pursued this process! We couldn't have done it without you.
Featuring the documentary Chosen created by Shared Hope International made especially for teens and their parents.
