My name’s Alexandria (Alex) Hipkins and I began volunteering with Lighthouse for Life last winter. Prior to 2017, I thought trafficking was something that affected bigger cities or third world countries via sex tourism or online. I believed the lie that prostitution was a choice. Growing up with Myspace and then Facebook, meeting people from the internet wasn’t anything unusual. As a teenager, I thought it was fun and exciting. Looking back, I realize I could’ve been a cautionary tale in sex trafficking. That’s partially why I work with Lighthouse for Life.
Lighthouse for Life is a city on a hill, shining light into the dark crevices the world would like to forget. As a Christian, I’m called to be salt & light. To me, this means I have an obligation to help Lighthouse for Life. Everyone has a gift that can be used! For me, it’s graphic design and giving. Do you like to talk? Tell your friends about sex trafficking and how they can help Lighthouse for Life. Do you like to organize? They can use help in the office or with Freedom Bags, etc. Whatever your gift. Whatever your position. We need you!
